Arsenal’s top transfer target, Benjamin Šeško, has reportedly decided his next destination after being tipped for a blockbuster move this summer. As per TeamTalk, the 21-year-old forward has a release clause of approximately €70m, which has attracted a lot of interest from some of Europe’s biggest clubs.
As per Goal, the London giants have been handed a huge boost as the youngster favours a move to the Premier League, which can allow them to seal the Slovenian talisman’s signing in the upcoming summer transfer window.
Šeško signed for RB Leipzig from RB Salzburg in 2023 and since then has managed to cement himself as the German team’s leading goal scorer, bagging 35 goals in just 78 appearances in all competitions.
His tremendous goal-scoring efficiency has turned him into one of Europe’s most demanded strikers. Top clubs like Bayern Munich and Chelsea have also shown strong interest in the 21-year-old, with Bayern even contacting the player’s camp as per recent reports from Bild.
As a result, the Gunners' are set to face competition from the German giants along with their arch-rivals Chelsea and Manchester United, who are also in the race to sign the Leipzig sharpshooter.
Arsenal determined to fulfil their dream of signing a “lethal” striker for the next season
Benjamin Šeško has been closely monitored by Arsenal since January, who have been desperate to sign a striker since the summer of 2024.
As per Sky Sports, the Gunners' even made an approach for the Slovenian in January but were immediately turned down by Leipzig, with the player's camp also feeling that it wouldn't be ideal to change clubs mid-season.
Along with Šeško, Newcastle’s Alexander Isak also remains a top option for Arsenal, who is said to be the dream signing for Mikel Arteta. However, the Swedish striker’s strong links to Liverpool have prompted the Gunners to back out from this race and focus on other available forwards.
On top of that, a deal for Isak would be very costly, as Newcastle wouldn't want to let go of arguably their best player for a price less than at least a €100m.
