Dani Olmo, who joined FC Barcelona last summer, faced several controversies regarding his registration after the La Liga president, Javier Tebas, did not approve of this signing and had made several attempts to kick him out of the Catalan base.

The European champion also faced several injuries, which kept him out of action for quite some time. Hansi Flick therefore had appointed him a swift substitute role.

Despite his limited role, the Spanish international proved to be the difference maker yet again, coming on as a substitute against Las Palmas on Saturday and scoring the winning goal for the Catalan giants.

Barcelona rotated their squad and weren't at their best during the first half with Fermin Lopez struggling to find spaces in Las Palmas' compact midfield.

The game quickly changed when Olmo came on, with his quick feet and sense of trickery reigniting the spark that Flick's team desperately required.

Finally, his brilliant technique allowed him to win a second ball and carve out some space in the box before placing the ball at the back of the net to win all three points for Barcelona.

Hansi Flick brings Olmo and Torres back to life at Barcelona

Hansi Flick once again used his mastermind to grab a massive three points against Las Palmas in a crucial match in the La Liga title race. His two substitutes, Dani Olmo and Ferran Torres, came on and changed the game for the Catalans.

Dani Olmo’s substitution brought fluid dynamics into their passing and added more flair than Fermin Lopez.

Ferran Torres has been living up to the expectations this season, bagging 10 goals in 27 games, scoring most of them after coming on as a substitute.

The German coach has managed to turn Torres into a super-sub for Barcelona.
