Alphonso Davies to Real Madrid is reportedly a 'done deal', after the Canadian failed to reach a contract agreement with his current club, Bayern Munich. According to GOAL, Davies’ agent and the club had been in talks since last week in order to discuss a contract extension.

However, it has now been reported that both parties have failed to reach an agreement, giving an edge to the Los Blancos to secure the Canadian star’s signature for a move in the upcoming summer.

Real have been in contact with Davies since last summer. It was even reported that the club and the player had reached an agreement on personal terms. However, the move did not happen and continues to stall.

This latest update could be seen as a breakthrough for Madrid in their pursuit of Davies.

What has Davies said about his future amidst interest from Real Madrid?

The 25-year-old left-back’s future with Bayern Munich has looked skeptical since last season. Having agreed to personal terms with Madrid, the Canadian indicated his desire to play for them. However, with the deal not happening, Davies has continued to give his best for Bayern.

The talented full-back has played 1267 minutes for the Bavarian giants in all competitions, maintaining an impressive defensive record while contributing to 3 goals as well. In an interview back in September, Davies expressed his gratitude towards Bayern irrespective of whatever the future holds for him.

While talking to BILD, Davies stated, “My full focus is on this team. I'm playing here for Bayern Munich now, and that's what I'm concentrating on. I want to win every game. That's why I'm not thinking about it at the moment.”

However, he might've even dropped a slight hint regarding his move to Spain. He further added, “Regardless of whether I stay or leave the club, I will always carry this club in my heart,” possibly indicating that he might have made up his mind regarding his future.
