Chelsea have grinded their way back into the top four after an inspiring 2-1 win over London rivals West Ham. This massive win has put them above reigning champions Manchester City.

In a nerve-wracking comeback 2-1 win, the Blues earned the bragging rights of the London derby while also securing three crucial points.

Graham Potter’s West Ham dominated in the first half and deservedly led at the break. Jarrod Bowen, buried in a loose ball given to him by Levi Colwill.

Chelsea's centre-back gave away the ball after being pressed by Mohamed Kudus, who had two brilliant chances himself to score but failed to convert any of them.

Pedro Neto levelled things for the Blues as the clock struck the 64th minute mark, just 10 minutes before, Cole Palmer’s shot deflected off Wan-Bissaka into the far corner of Areola's goal, who could've done nothing about it.

This win has given Enzo Maresca's men a massive boost, as it is only their second win in their last eight matches.

Chelsea keen on finishing in the top four this season

Chelsea have been off to a positive run following a shaky start to their league campaign. Maresca's men remained unbeaten in the month of November. Their attacking prowess has been incredible this season, scoring 47 goals from an xG (expected goals) of 49.5.

However, they have dropped several points during the ongoing winter, which made them fall to the sixth spot.

Manchester City have appeared to have done them a massive favour by dropping three massive points against Arsenal, allowing Chelsea to get back in the top 4.

Chelsea fans demand at least a top-four finish from the team this season, following the heavy investment they've made in the summer. Enzo Maresca will also be hoping to lift the UEFA Conference League as Chelsea appear to be the favourites to win the competition.

This derby win against West Ham United will give them huge confidence for their upcoming fixtures. Monday's win also indicated that they are capable of beating City for the fourth spot in the table this season.

“Cometh the hour, cometh the man”: Cole Palmer proves it once again

Cole Palmer has been nothing short of a hero for Chelsea yet again. The young star has consistently proven his worth to the West London giants.

The Englishman has bailed out Maresca's team on several occasions this season, grabbing crucial points for his team. He did the same against West Ham as well.

Chelsea look lost on the pitch when Palmer is unable to find spaces in the middle of the park. However, it usually takes only a moment for “Cold” Palmer to turn things around.

Palmer needed only one chance and a stroke of luck to turn the game on its head for Chelsea. His cross, deflected in by former Manchester United defender Wan-Bissaka, proved to be the winner for the Blues.

Palmer is currently the top scorer and top assist provider for Chelsea this season, with 14 goals and 6 assists to his name.
