Chelsea FC's manager, Enzo Maresca, has given reassurance to the fans, stating that he is not worried about their star player, Cole Palmer, who is experiencing a significant dip in his form.
The England international, who has been the best player for the Blues' this season, has been going through a rough patch lately, failing to score a goal in his last six games for Chelsea.
Apart from this goalless period, Palmer has also failed to provide even a single assist in his last 13 appearances across all competitions.
However, when asked about his star player’s subpar performances recently, manager Enzo Maresca backed him up completely.
Speaking in his recent press conference, the Italian manager said, "I am always concerned about general performances, but not Cole because Cole is a human being, and always during a season he can have some moments where he struggles a little bit more.” (sic)
He further added, “Every game we expect a goal or an assist, but it is difficult. In this moment, his team's performance reflects the team's that he struggles to score goals. We need to be more clinical when we get chances.”(sic)
The bigger issue: Why are Chelsea not able to maintain a position in the top 4 despite spending billions?
Chelsea have spent a staggering amount of money in the last three years but have still failed to bag any major success.
The Blues had a strong start to the current Premier League campaign, where they even appeared in the title race, challenging Liverpool for the first spot.
However, in an extraordinary turnaround, Chelsea have gone from competing for the title to falling short even of a position in the top 4 at the moment.

The Blues have been the highest spenders in the Premier League and also across Europe in the last 5 years, which makes their shortcomings even more surprising and disappointing at the same time.
Despite the hefty amount spent, the London giants still had plans to buy a new striker, with Napoli’s Victor Osimhen being on top of their priority list.
Many fans and even experts have criticised the way Chelsea's management works, which is led by the majority stake owner, Todd Boehly.
Some have even called the club’s board to be like a spoilt rich child who throws money at anything he likes despite its importance to him/her.
