FC Barcelona are close to extending Pedri’s contract

More good news arrived for Barcelona as Pedri verbally agreed to extend his stay at FC Barcelona until 2030, as reported by Fichajes.net. If the reports are true, the club has secured the future of one of its most prized assets. 

According to Forbes, Pedri's new deal is part of a larger strategy by the club to secure its top-tier talent, with our early news confirming that Ronald Araujo has also committed his future to the club until 2031.

The agreement seems natural for both the club and Pedri, as the midfielder has been in exceptional form for Barcelona this season. The Spanish star has shone the brightest under the influence of the new Barcelona manager, Hansi Flick. 

The crucial need to extend Pedri’s stay for Barcelona

According to DataMB, Pedri leads all La Liga midfielders in several categories like passes, key passes, and passes to the final third. Pedri also ranks second in passes and expected assists while playing around 1,524 minutes in 20 appearances in the Spanish league.

Pedri’s ability to connect with the team, make decisions under pressure, and versatility have made him a major boost for the club and the national team, with which he gave a star performance in their UEFA Euros 2024 winning campaign.

With good news arriving from all sides, Barca seems to have moved forward from their near-debacle with Dani Olmo in the earlier Jan transfer window.
