Former Liverpool defender and pundit, Jamie Carragher, has opened up his thoughts on Arsenal and what he believes is the “main problem” in their current squad, which has forced them out of another Premier League title race.

As per Sky Sports, Carragher has said that the lack of a world-class striker is not the main reason for their inefficiency in front of the goal, pointing out another major issue that he believes overshadows the No. 9 problem.

What is the main problem for Arsenal according to Jamie Carragher?

In the recent Monday Night Football show on Sky Sports, Jamie Carragher shined the light on Mikel Arteta’s creative department, stating that effectiveness from his playmakers has been the main reason for Arsenal’s poor run of results recently.

During the time when club captain Martin Ødegaard and star winger Bukayo Saka were both out injured, the Gunners critically struggled to create major goal-scoring opportunities, resulting in a significant drop in the number of goals scored by them.

It has only been since Ødegaard’s return back in late January that Arsenal have managed to revive their spark in front of the goal to some extent, which clearly showcases their heavy dependence on just a few players for chance-creation and creativity on the pitch.

However, the Norwegian maestro is also far off from his usual standards at the moment, after returning from a long period on the sidelines, which is why Carragher held the midfield issue above the striker one while stating the urgent need for the Gunners to provide support to their captain in the creative department.
