Liverpool FC cruised to a stunning victory against Newcastle United last night to go 13 points clear at the top of the points table, placing one hand on the Premier League trophy.

Arne Slot’s men secured a comfortable 2-0 victory against the Magpies on a cold night under the floodlights at Anfield, further solidifying their grip on the Premier League title race.

Goals from Dominik Szoboszlai and Alexis Mac Allister were enough to see the Reds through and help them bag all 3 points.

With Arsenal dropping points yet again, this time to Nottingham Forest, Liverpool now have what seems like an unassailable lead at the top, with just 10 games left to be played in the league this season.

A dominating display by Liverpool against a “lost” Newcastle

It was arguably one of the most dominating displays in what has already been a season full of such performances in the Premier League for Liverpool.

All three departments had a significant impact during the game, helping their team to secure a memorable win against a Newcastle side that looked lost without some of their most impactful players.

The Reds looked comfortable on the ball with a dominating performance from the midfield yet again.

As per SofaScore, the hosts maintained a staggering 62% possession of the ball throughout the game, starving Newcastle of the ball and wearing them out.

On top of that, Slot’s attack was sharp and also clinical with their chances, scoring 2 goals from the 3 shots they had on target, while attempting a total of 12 shots to constantly apply pressure on the visitors throughout the game.

The defence, like the midfield and the attack, had an incredible performance.

Without Alexander Isak, the Magpies looked lost and almost half as clinical as they are with their star talisman and the Reds’ defence made sure to exploit the void left by his absence to disrupt Eddie Howe’s attacking shape and starve them of any clear chances on goal.
