Mohamed Salah, who could possibly be in his final year at Liverpool, is appearing to break records with every game he plays in the Premier League this season, being in arguably his best ever form.
The 32-year-old already has a staggering 51 G/A in just 38 games played across all competitions, scoring 30 goals and 21 assists, as per data provided by Opta.
The latest team to succumb to his magic was Pep Guardiola's Manchester City, where Salah managed to pull the strings for Liverpool yet again, scoring one goal and providing another to grab all three points against the reigning champions.
With his goal and assist against Manchester City on Sunday, the Egyptian became the first player to reach 50+ goal involvements this season.
On top of that, as per Squaka, Salah has become the first player to score 25+ goals and provide 15+ assists in a Premier League season.
The Liverpool No. 11 also became the only player in the history of English football to have 40+ goal involvements in two different Premier League campaigns.
The Egyptian has also scored and assisted in 11 Premier League games, which is the most by a player in Europe’s top five leagues, since Lionel Messi in 2014.
His performances this season have reached new heights, making this season already, statistically, the best one he's ever had in his illustrious career.
Renewing Salah’s contract is not a question; it's a necessity for Liverpool
Mo Salah has not yet received any formal contract renewal offer from Liverpool yet, as per many sources.
This season is the final year in his current contract, which expires in the upcoming summer, raising serious doubts regarding the star forward’s future.
Arne Slot has always highlighted the importance of the 32-year-old's surreal impact on his team and also as a leader on and off the pitch.
However, the Liverpool board seems to be taking the situation too casually, which has led to Salah giving out worrying statements about his future.
In a recent interview, when asked about his future, Salah said, “I just feel like my whole focus now is to win the Premier League. It doesn't matter if it's the last game or not the last game; we will see.”
While the fans believe that Liverpool cannot let go of Mohamed Salah at any cost, the delay in his contract extension has them stressfully thinking about the possibility of their club being without arguably the best player it has ever had from next season onwards.
