Real Madrid secured a comfortable 3-0 victory away from home against Real Valladolid last night in La Liga, thanks to Kylian Mbappé’s first-ever hat trick for the Spanish giants.

With their emphatic win last night against a 10-man Valladolid, the reigning La Liga champions will end the 21st gameweek of La Liga while being on top of the points table, with 49 points in 21 matches.

Kylian Mbappé: Back to his best

Following his first hat trick for Real Madrid, Kylian Mbappé appears to be coming back to his best, with consistent performances for the Los Blancos recently.

The French superstar is Real’s top scorer this season, scoring 22 goals in all competitions, while scoring 8 in his last 5, which signifies that Real Madrid’s new no. 9 has finally begun to settle in the team after a difficult start to life in Madrid.

Mbappé’s superb form has also turned around Real Madrid's fate in La Liga. In just a span of 1 month, the Galácticos have managed to climb up 2 places in the points table, storming ahead of arch-rivals FC Barcelona and Atlético Madrid.

Is it Real Madrid’s title to lose now?

Following their win against Real Valladolid last night, Real have now won 4 out of their last 5 games in the league while picking up 13 points and scoring 16 goals in these games, signifying their tremendous form in the league.

Real Madrid currently stand 4 points clear at the top with the same number of games as Atlético Madrid. They also stand 10 points ahead of FC Barcelona in 3rd place, who are yet to play in this gameweek.

Even if Atlético were to win today, Real would still be at the top of the points table while having a game in hand. However, the best-case scenario for the Los Blancos would be if Atlético lose to Mallorca today, which would allow them to go 4 points clear at the top while having a game in hand.

With their tremendous form, matched up with consistent performance from star players and the advantage of having an extra game in hand in comparison to Atlético Madrid, it will be fair to say that the title has now surely become Real Madrid’s to lose.
