The second leg of the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup between Arsenal and Newcastle United will take place tonight at St. James Park.
The hosts will be heading into the game with a 2-goal lead, thanks to Alexander Isak’s and Anthony Gordon’s deciding goals, which defeated the Gunners in the first leg at the Emirates.
While they do currently stand in 2nd place in the Premier League points table, they could be potentially fall 9 points behind league leaders Liverpool by the end of next week, because of which their chances to win the title look bleak.
Therefore, Arsenal will be hoping to complete a turnaround in the Carabao Cup in order to keep their hopes of winning a trophy this season alive.
Eddie Howe’s men have a great shot at qualifying for the final of the Carabao Cup for a second time in a row as they also aim to win their first trophy of the season, which will also be their first one under the English manager.
