Liverpool conquered Tottenham Hotspur to successfully complete a turnaround in the Carabao Cup semi-final tie.

Coming on the back of a 1-goal defeat in the first leg, the Reds dominated and put 4 past a vulnerable Tottenham defence, winning the game by a scoreline of 4-0 and the tie with an aggregate of 4-1.

Cody Gakpo's opener, followed by Mohamed Salah’s penalty, completed the turnaround for Arne Slot’s men. However, they did not stop there.

Dominik Szoboszlai and Virgil van Dijk added 2 more goals to finish off a magical night at Anfield, which ended in the hosts earning a place in the final against Newcastle United, which is set to be played on 16th March, 2025.

“It's not looking good, mate”: Tottenham’s season goes from bad to worse

In a game where they were completely outplayed, Tottenham failed to register even a single shot on target, which was the first time ever since Ange Postecoglou's arrival, as per Opta Stats.

With last night's defeat, Tottenham Hotspur’s long-awaited dream of winning a trophy seems to be fading away yet again.

Currently standing in 14th place in the Premier League, while being eliminated from the FA Cup and now even the Carabao Cup, Tottenham’s quest for a title can only be achieved by winning the mighty Europa League, which, based on their season so far, looks very gloomy.

In a chaotic season so far, Spurs have witnessed disappointments of even greater heights, experiencing new lows such as their worst start to a Premier League campaign in the last 10 years.

The pressure on Ange Postecoglou continues to build with every passing week, with fans witnessing no notable progress in the Australian manager's side.

However, many fans, along with the club's chairman, Daniel Levy, are believed to still back Postecoglou despite their horrible performance, which has mainly occurred because of Tottenham’s major injury crisis this season.

“Let's talk about 4, baby”: Liverpool on course to win the historical quadruple

It wasn’t the first time that an electric crowd at Anfield witnessed an emphatic comeback, as Liverpool successfully managed to keep their dreams of winning a first-ever quadruple for an English club with yesterday’s win.

Arne Slot has transformed the strong foundation left by former manager Jurgen Klopp into an absolutely unstoppable force, who is able to overcome any challenges it has faced so far.

Liverpool’s qualification for the final of the Carabao Cup means that they are well and truly on course for winning a quadruple this season, with them also being in strong positions to win the rest of the titles as well.

Currently leading the Premier League title race by 6 points, while standing strong in the FA Cup and reaching the knockout stages of the UEFA Champions League with the best record in the league stages, the Reds’ fans strongly believe that their team can achieve this historical feat.

However, the fans know that they need to keep their expectations realistic, as Liverpool were in a similar position last year as well, where they were also tipped to be on course to win the quadruple, which ended with the Reds winning just one title.
