Manchester United boss, Ruben Amorim, has provided a major regarding Bruno Fernandes' future at Old Trafford amidst links to Real Madrid.

The 30-year-old midfielder recently signed a contract extension with the Red Devils, which extends until the summer of 2027.

Fernandes has arguably been the club's greatest player in recent times, scoring 95 goals and providing 81 assists in just 277 appearances across all competitions.

Even in what seems to be the worst season for United in years, the Portuguese maestro has led the team from the front, bagging a 30+ G/A in all competitions.

On top of that, he is currently the only United player who has been able to reach double goal-scoring figures this season, further proving his worth in the team.

Former Manchester United midfielder and pundit Roy Keane had previously called out Fernandes for “not being good enough”. However, statistically, without Bruno’s contributions, United would have been fighting the relegation battle this season.

“He is not going anywhere” - Ruben Amorim on Bruni Fernandes

Manchester United have been desperate to build a decent squad to compete for the Premier League title with their rivals, and therefore, a player of Bruno Fernandes' quality is essential to be the difference maker.

There have been instances where United seemed done and dusted, but the Portuguese magician managed to pull them back out of nowhere and earn crucial points for his side.

Acknowledging his importance, Ruben Amorim has stated his determination to work with the Portuguese international, stating he will not let him leave at any cost.

According to Sky Sports, Amorim said, "We want to win the Premier League again, so we want the best players to continue with us. He's 30, but he's still so young because he plays 55 games every season, and between assists and goals, he's there for 30 at least.” (sic)

He further defended Fernandes' antics on the pitch, saying, "He is also a supporter of Manchester United, so he really feels it. Sometimes the frustration you see, that everybody sees and maybe says, is not a good thing in a captain; it is a sign he wants this so bad. This is the kind of player we want.” (sic)
